EXPRESSIVE MOVEMENT FOR EVERY BODY
Hi, I'm Mataji
A teaching artist, actor, and dancer creating expressive, movement-based spaces for children and adults rooted in joy, curiosity, and connection. I currently teach gentle mobility and expressive movement for adults at Remainders Creative Reuse in Pasadena and ballet at Angelica Center for Arts & Music (DTLA), where I work closely with students and families to build strong technical foundations alongside confidence and creative expression.
My teaching approach balances structure and discipline with creativity and curiosity, supporting both adults and children at varying levels as they develop skill, body awareness, and a deeper relationship with movement.

Classes at Remainders Creative Reuse

Description: A playful open-level class open to adults of all ages and experience levels where we explore movement through the lens of creative exercises, prompts, or improvisations that improve coordination and balance and where everyone can learn to connect with their bodies, understand their movement capabilities, and become more aware of their physical sensations.
Suggested: Wear comfortable clothes - All body types encouraged to participate.

Description: This 6-week series offers a gentle, effective movement practice for adults of all ages - especially those who sit often, feel stiff, or want to move with greater ease and awareness. Classes blend mobility strengthening, somatic movement, and light aerobics to support joint health, posture, circulation, and overall well-being, with standing, seated, and floor options included. The series gradually builds week by week so participants leave with simple tools for a sustainable movement practice at home.
Suggested: Wear comfortable clothes - All body types encouraged to participate.
