EXPRESSIVE MOVEMENT FOR EVERY BODY
Hi, I'm Mataji
I'm a teaching artist, actor, and dancer who believes movement belongs to everyone. I create expressive, movement-based experiences for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Whether teaching ballet, creative movement, or gentle mobility, my classes blend structure with curiosity, helping students build confidence, creativity, body awareness, and meaningful connection.
I currently teach Gentle Mobility & Expressive Movement at Remainders in Pasadena, EngAGE (Chinatown location) and Ballet & Creative Movement to young women at the Angelica Center for Arts & Music in DTLA. I have the privilege of working with students from a wide range of cultures, languages, ages, and lived experiences.
I also partner with clients to design inclusive movement experiences that foster creativity, nervous system regulation, cognitive engagement, and joy.
My goal is simple: to create welcoming spaces where every person feels seen, capable, and free to move in ways that are joyful and meaningful.

Movement is a Universal Language
I believe movement can reach places words sometimes cannot. It can calm the nervous system, strengthen memory, improve mobility, spark creativity, and create connection across generations, cultures, languages, and abilities. Every class I teach is designed to help people feel more at home in their bodies—and more connected to themselves and each other.
Community in Motion

I love this class because it gives me a low pressure, dedicated time to move my body and shake out my stress from the week. The community I have found here always meets me where I’m at with support and an uplifting environment that guarantees a fun time..
